A bit about me:

I'm Beren Kücükyılmaz, a versatile UX/UI designer with 4+ years of experience.

Hello, I'm Beren. I graduated from METU's Department of Industrial Product Design in 2018. I've brought the analytical thinking, problem-solving, and human-centered approach I gained through my design education to UX/UI design in the digital world.

After graduation, I worked as a freelance graphic designer , creating logos, illustrations, animations, and social media visuals. At the same time, I worked as a UX/UI consultant for the affirmation-based mobile app at Mantra, a startup. Thus began my UX/UI journey, a field that allowed me to combine different aspects of design and felt perfectly suited to me.

I started working as a UX/UI Designer at Ekinoks Yazılım in 2021. Here, for 3 years and 7 months, I took part in many civilian-focused projects; I designed some products from scratch, and in others, I improved the experience by revising existing workflows.

Some of the projects I took part in:

  • Ekoşehir Electronic Fare Collection System: I designed the passenger mobile app, POS & validator device interfaces, and card processing center dashboard under a single ecosystem. I transformed multi-actor, complex processes into a holistic user experience.

  • Auth+ (Authenticator App): I designed all mobile screens considering security and accessibility and developed a component-based design system.

  • The Enterprise Mobile Wallet Application was one of the first projects of my career. I was part of a two-person design team and responsible for the user interface design of a specific portion of the project. This mobile-focused, multi-platform integrated payment solution provided valuable learning experience.

  • Finso: I revised the user flows in the loan application to provide a smoother experience.

  • ELM (Electronic License Management): I improved filtering, file uploading, and user flows; provided UI/UX feedback to the development team.

  • Map Analysis & Layer Management Application: I simplified user flows and increased usability with empty state and consistent UI solutions.

  • Turp: In the healthcare field, I worked on the interfaces of the application that allows orders to be placed from pharmacies.

During my final year at Ekinoks, I took on the design team leader role of a three-person design team. This experience taught me leadership skills in team coordination, work sharing, and quality control.

I worked at a small agency in 2024, producing web, social media, and visual content projects. However, my focus has always been UX/UI design.

In my final year at Ekinoks, I became design team lead, managing a team of three designers. This role strengthened my leadership in coordination, task distribution, and quality control.

In 2024, I co-founded a small creative agency, producing web, social media, and visual content projects. While this broadened my design scope, my main focus has always remained UX/UI product design.

For me, design isn't just about visuals; it's about functionality, accessibility, and adding real value to the user. I love simplifying complex processes, combining my knowledge from different disciplines, and bringing my multifaceted perspective to digital products.
